The Baker Acre

We now own an acre of land! Today, we closed on the selling of our home and the purchasing of our own little acre. Steve and the boys are walking through the field checking it out. The view is spectacular! The property line doesn't quite go to the mountains (hee, hee), but we can enjoy the vast openness none the less. We are so excited to begin building! Hopefully, that will happen the first part of April. We are so thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing us during this whole process. Who sells their home without a realtor in nine days, then closes five weeks later?! Someone who has some providential help, that's who! We are excited for the opportunity this will be for our family to be closer to Steve's work and his parents.

He's a growin'

Trenton has been the best baby! I deserve to end on a good note! I can't believe he is almost 6 months old! He rolls all over the place and tries to sit up, but still needs some practice. I'd love to have him sleep better, but I guess I can't have everything. He's certainly a keeper!

A Good Idea in Theory...

We thought it would be fun to take the kids to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights and sights. I imagined something far more "Norman Rockwell-ish" than what happened. First of all, it was freezing. They could have cared less about the millions of lights tediously placed on every bush and tree. They just wanted to leave and go visit their friends, Lauren, Ethan, and Braden (Christy and Adam Layne's family), whom we stayed with. Maybe in a few years we'll make another attempt. I can see now they are just as impressed with the light display on the house over on Almo St.

Our Adorable Trenton

This first picture is Trent about 1 month old. He is so little then! (He still is). It took a while for him to gain weight, but he's making up for it now. It is sad to me to think about how quickly they grow up. He is only 3 months old now, but he has changed so much! I want time to quit moving so fast! The second picture, Trent looked like he was raising his hand while he was asleep in his carseat. I love the look on his face on the last picture--"What have I gotten myself into?!" We are so grateful to have this sweet little boy in our family! I can finally say I have a good baby!

Sunday Morning with Six Kids

There is something irresistible about kids dressed up for church. Maybe it's that for 2 seconds, everyone's hair looks good and their faces are clean... something is always askew by the time we get to church.

Garrett as Tiger Boy

Our neighbor, Tami, painted Garrett to look like a tiger. He came home walking very slowly--it was hard to move his lips, so I guess that affected movement to his legs. I was outside working when he came home. After admiring him, I asked him to hold the gate open for me, and he said, "I can't. I'm a tiger." The paint job didn't last long, though, because he realized he couldn't eat with painted lips and cheeks.

Trenton Henry Baker

Trenton Henry Baker was born on July 14, 2009. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 inches long. We're so glad he's finally here!
